The board and the sales team talk. Operations is busy.

Outscale benchmarks, from 112,991 prospects reached in real campaigns.

  • Operations20%
  • Every department together26%
Outscale benchmark: people who replied once messaged, by department. Job titles grouped; departments with 400 or more people messaged.

Board members and salespeople replied most, and operations least. All three held when we compared each department with the same campaigns’ usual rate, so the pattern runs across campaigns.

The people around the leader

Leadership, the founders, chief executives, owners and partners most campaigns aim at, made up 34% of everyone we reached. They replied a little under average, at 25%. The people around them replied more.

Salespeople recognise the craft. They know what a good message takes, and they’re curious how somebody else prospects. A board seat is a job of keeping doors open. Operations runs the day, and an unsolicited message is one more thing on a list that’s already too long.

Which individual titles do best is in which job titles accept LinkedIn connection requests.

What to do today

  • Add the board and the sales team to your list. They replied most, and they sit right next to the decision.
  • Give operations a reason in the first line. Name the problem they own. That’s what gets them past the preview.
