LinkedIn acceptance rate by continent

A continent is too big to target by.

Upscale Outreach ·

South America accepted LinkedIn connection requests most and Asia least: 65% against 33%, with every continent together at 39%. But within the same campaigns, the gap shrinks to 14%: most of a continent’s rate is the campaigns aimed at it.

Outscale benchmarks, from 112,991 prospects reached in real campaigns.

The raw numbers

  • South America65%
  • Middle East40%
  • North America39%
  • Europe37%
  • Oceania36%
  • Asia33%
  • Every continent together39%
Outscale benchmark: connection requests accepted, by the prospect’s continent. Continents with 1,000 or more settled requests.

On the raw numbers, South America accepted about twice as often as Asia.

Like for like, the gap shrinks

Continents get different campaigns: different offers, different senders, different lists. So we compared each continent with the same campaigns’ usual rate. Highest against lowest, the gap shrinks to 14%. South America still came top and Asia still came bottom. Most of the difference was the campaigns aimed at them.

A continent is a lot of different people. Europe alone runs from Italy, among the warmest countries we’ve measured, to Ireland, near the bottom. The detail is in LinkedIn acceptance rates by country and LinkedIn reply rates by country.

What to do today

  • Target by country. A continent’s average hides its best and worst markets.
  • Judge a market against its own campaigns. A strong campaign makes any market look good.
